After winning the defamation trial against ex-wife Amber Heard, many rumors about Johnny Depp’s return to the Pirates movie franchise have been circulating on social media.
Recently, a source revealed to Poptopic that the 59-year-old actor is in conversation with Disney and is expected to sign a deal worth 300 million dollars to make a comeback as Captain Jack Sparrow in the upcoming Pirates movie
As per the insider, “Disney is desperate for Depp.”
“They are very much interested in patching up their relationship with Johnny Depp. They reached out to the actor prior to his defamation trial against Amber Heard and asked whether he would be interested in returning for another Pirates film or two.”
“I know corporate sent him a gift basket with a very heartfelt letter, but I’m unsure how it was received. But what I can tell you is that the studio has already penned up a draft for a film about Jack Sparrow — so they are very hopeful that Johnny will forgive them and return as his iconic character.”
The source added, “The deal is reportedly for Johnny Depp to return as Jack Sparrow in Pirates of the Caribbean 6 and a spin-off Disney Plus series about the early life of the Captain of The Black Pearl.”
It also claimed that a $300 million deal is reported to be signed between the media house and the embattled actor.
Now, as we all know that during the trial, the ‘Edward Scissorhands’ actor stated in front of the jury that he would never return to work with Disney after they removed him from the sixth Pirates movie.
His legal team also claimed their client lost $22 million when the franchise dropped him from the new film.
Following the trial, a former Disney executive told People that after winning his legal battle against Amber Heard, Johnny became the ‘most wanted’ person in Hollywood.
“The appetite is just huge, no doubt about that. I absolutely believe post-verdict that Pirates is primed for rebooting with Johnny as Capt. Jack back on board. There is just too much potential box-office treasure for a beloved character deeply embedded in the Disney culture.” He said.
After all these statements and speculations, Johnny Depp fans worldwide celebrated the good news and exclaimed with joy.

But amongst all these rumors, one of Depp’s representatives told NBC News that no such deal exists – ‘it’s not true.’
“This is all made up, there is no truth to all these statements circulating online. Mr. Depp is not returning to the Disney franchise.” Reported by E! News.
